We're a punk rock / power pop band from Southeast Michigan, featuring Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns.

Biography

GRPPLNG is not your typical rock ‘n roll band.

If you thought their anthemic hooks, crunchy guitars, and pummelling drum assaults felt like a piledriver to your eardrums, you wouldn't be far off – the band features Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin of the Motor City Machine Guns, aka your favorite tag team's favorite tag team.

Evoking the familiar sounds of late 90's power pop and skate punk bands alike, GRPPLNG pairs sugary melodies with angsty undertones, delivering a high-energy burst of catchy rock that encourages fist pumps, spontaneous sing-alongs, and the occasional moshpit.

Since October of 2025, GRPPLNG has been building their repertoire of punk-ish rock songs – although guitarist Chris Plumb and drummer Adam Tatro go way back with the MCMG, having performed alongside them in their previous rock band, The High Crusade. With the inclusion of guitarist and longtime collaborator Adam Cline, the new line-up was solidified, providing GRPPLNG the ability to experiment with three-part guitar and vocal harmonies.

Having supported musicians ranging from Christy Costello & the CC Club to Teenage Bottlerocket, GRPPLNG’s unique ability to effortlessly ride the line between pop and punk affords them the flexibility of performing with a diverse range of rock groups. Whether they’re inside or outside the ring, GRPPLNG and the Motor City Machine Guns continue to defy expectations.
